What server system does php use?

Wordpress is popular enough, it is a powerful blogging platform written in PHP. It is relatively easy to use it to set up a blog platform, and it is a more convenient tool for novices to build websites. But to truly appreciate the power of WordPress (hereinafter referred to as WP), plug-ins are indispensable.

Generally speaking, if we want to try a plug-in, we can't upload the file through FTP and then go to our own website to try it. That would be a bit risky. So we need to build a PHP platform on the local computer. I have collected all commonly used PHP local testing platforms to provide convenience for those who need them.

The local PHP platform is divided into two types, one is LAMP, which is Linux Apache MySql PHP; the other is WAMP, which is Windows Apache MySql PHP, and the former is generally better than the latter. If we install Apache MySql PHP ourselves, it will be quite difficult. Not to mention changing a bunch of codes, it is easy to make mistakes.

1. XAMPP

XAMPP is a relatively powerful local testing platform. It integrates three necessary functions and also comes with FileZilla. In the control panel, you can register Apache, MySql and FileZilla as system services or uninstall services. There are control buttons for service startup, and you can also see the running information of the service in the lower part of the window.

Although the panel is in English, it is clear and easy to understand. The advantage of registering as a system service is that it can run automatically when booting, but it will consume a certain amount of system resources. It is up to the user to decide. After the installation is successful and the service is started successfully, you can open the browser and enter http://localhost/ to see if it is successful. In XAMPP's web page options, there is Chinese support.

2. wampserver

Its official website does not have Chinese, but the program supports Chinese. After starting the installation program, it will prompt you to uninstall the old version first. Overlay upgrades are not supported, and then the installation will be successful all the way to NEXT.

It has an icon in the task tray. If the service starts abnormally, it will be red; if some exceptions occur, it will turn yellow; if everything is normal, then it will turn white. With these different color warnings, you can easily determine whether your localhost can be opened currently.

It can also switch between online and offline status. Simplified Chinese is also available in the language option.

3. phpstudy

PHPStudy is different. It contains IIS PHP and Apache PHP. The recommended software setting is the latter. There is also an icon in the task tray, and you can open the panel to view the service running status.

4. AppServ

During the program installation process, it prompts you to change the default port 80 to the service port, which can avoid conflicts caused by port sharing. There is a password setting prompt, and the software can also set the character set, the default is UTF-8. Although the software does not have a control panel, shortcuts are added to the start menu for all operations. The software also comes with a MySql command line terminal.
