How Can I Handle Events on Dynamically Added DOM Elements in JavaScript?

JavaScript Event Handling After Dynamic DOM Modifications

When JavaScript elements are added dynamically to a webpage, it's possible to encounter issues with event handling on those newly added elements. In such scenarios, JavaScript won't recognize the added elements and their defined event listeners.

One solution to this issue is event delegation. By using event delegation, events bubble up from newly added elements to an existing parent element that was available at the time JavaScript initialized. Rather than assigning event listeners to each dynamically added element, assign them to a higher-level parent element that contains both existing and future elements.

In the context of your specific code, consider using the on() method instead of the click() method to implement event handlers. The on() method supports event delegation, allowing events to be delegated to a parent that was present when the page loaded.

$(document).on('click', '.races', function(e) {
  // Event handling code
});

By incorporating event delegation into your code, you'll ensure that event handlers are registered and functional on dynamically added elements, resolving the issue where JavaScript event listeners failed to fire for appended elements in your application.
