According to news from this site on November 28, at the 2023 Loongson Product Release and User Conference this morning, the new generation of domestic CPU-Loongson 3A6000 was officially released. It has four physical cores/eight logical cores. Frequency 2.0-2.5GHz.
In addition, Loongson ecological partner Suzhou Xiongli Technology also launched the XL63 series of highly integrated three-layer gigabit network switching chips integrating Loongson CPU IP and delivered it to the market. This is also the second company besides Loongson Zhongke to launch Dragon architecture chip products, marking a major leap forward for Loongson in building a Dragon architecture ecosystem through open licensing.
Hu Weiwu, chairman of Loongson Zhongke, said that the company will build the Dragon architecture ecosystem through sharing and co-construction, and authorize Loongson IP. It will be a one-time authorization and will never collect royalties, that is, "no commission will be charged for selling chips." And there is no need to audit the authorized enterprises.
Loongson believes that the current RISC-V architecture is too open, the ecosystem is fragmented, and the software is incompatible. Moreover, considering that ARM authorization does not allow adding instructions, it limits innovation, although RISC-V is currently open. More than 2,000 instructions have been applied, but adding instructions yourself must comply with hardware specifications and can only be used through open libraries.
Loongson 3A6000 adopts the command system and architecture independently designed in my country. It does not need to rely on any foreign authorized technology. It is a new technology independently developed and controllable by my country. A first-generation general-purpose processor that can run a variety of cross-platform applications and meet various large-scale and complex desktop application scenarios.
Officials pointed out that its launch marks that my country's independently developed CPU has reached a new height in terms of independent controllability and product performance, and its performance has reached the level of international mainstream products.
This site noticed that Loongson Zhongke also launched the printer main control chip Loongson 2P0500 today. This is the first domestic printer main control chip based on an independent command system, which serves as the core control of the printing/scanning machine. Components, the successful research and development of Loongson 2P0500 will help promote more domestic printers to the market.
