News on July 11, to celebrate its 110th anniversary, British luxury car brand Aston Martin proudly launched a new V12-powered supercar called Valor. Known as the "last of this era" sports car, this model uses a manual transmission and retro design style, and is limited to 110 units worldwide.
According to the editor’s understanding, Valor is designed for those who really love driving. As the only front-engine V12 sports car with a manual gearbox, the Valor in 2023 presents a unique and pure design style that is also a tribute to the golden age of driving.
Valor incorporates the latest technologies, methods and materials to achieve superior performance. Body design inspired by the iconic V8s of the 1970s and 1980s Vantage, like the 2020 limited-edition Aston Martin Victor, the Valor is a perfect blend of old and new.
With only 110 examples of this model being produced worldwide, its rarity makes the Valor one of the most collectible Aston Martin cars. In terms of performance, Valor combines a powerful 715PS/753Nm twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 engine with a bespoke six-speed manual gearbox for the first time to provide drivers with a truly engaging driving experience.
Valor achieves massive power and torque output with a unique powertrain calibration that delivers comprehensive performance and maximum control in every gear. A mechanical limited-slip differential enhances the sense of direct analog connection between vehicle and driver, supported and guaranteed by electronic traction and stability control systems. Valor's driving modes are easily switched and recognized by adjusting throttle response, torque management and sound signature. The vehicle rides on a custom suspension system with adaptive dampers, springs and anti-roll bars.
An impressive package of optional hardware makes the Valor even more eye-catching, including a handsome set of 21-inch lightweight forged alloy “honeycomb” wheels, paired with the latest Michelin Pilot Sport S for AML 5 tires, the front tire size is 275/35 R21 and the rear tire size is 325/30 R21, which can achieve excellent handling and grip in wet or dry road conditions.
Valor’s body is made entirely from carbon fiber, combining Aston Martin’s modern design language with the iconic V8 of the 1970s Elements of Vantage blend into one. The clamshell bonnet is equipped with large "horseshoe" vents and dual NACA ducts to provide ample ventilation for the twin-turbocharged V12 engine underneath. The shape of the iconic grille at the front continues to evolve, with the center section defined by aluminum slats and large carbon fiber air intakes on either side supplying cool air to the engine and brakes. And unique round LED headlights sit below the stylish eyebrow grille.
#The rear design features a striking taillight pattern with LED light clusters (six per side), echoing the groundbreaking Valkyrie supercar. A full-width aluminum trim separates the upper and lower rear sections, creating a dynamic silhouette.
Valor’s cockpit continues Aston Martin’s tradition, presenting a simple and classic two-seater interior. The most notable of these is the manual transmission shifter. Valor offers a variety of interior combination options, allowing customers to create a unique configuration based on personal preferences. For example, traditional wool tweed seat covers inspired by the seats of Aston Martin's 1959 Le Mans-winning DBR1, combined with high-tech carbon fiber braid used for lightweight performance seat shells, bespoke door cards and dashboard air outlets A wonderful contrast.
In the third quarter of 2023, Valor is scheduled to start production at Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon, with first deliveries planned for the fourth quarter of the same year. As one of the most coveted cars in Aston Martin's special series of front-engine sports cars, the Valor will become an unparalleled and iconic car, valued not only for collecting but also for the precious experience of driving.
According to the editor’s understanding, the price of Valor is 830,000 pounds (approximately RMB 7.73 million) before tax, and the domestic price has not yet been announced.
