According to news from this site on May 3, SK Hynix revealed at a press conference held in Seoul, South Korea on Thursday that the company is developing a 300TB solid-state drive with an unprecedented capacity. The drive was pre-announced as part of a broader product and technology portfolio aimed at evolving AI capabilities in the data center and on devices.

Market researchers cited by SK Hynix believe that the total amount of data generated globally in the AI era (generated by humans and AI) will increase from 15ZB in 2014 will increase to 660ZB in 2030 (Note from this site: ZB is a zeta byte, 2 to the power of 70 bytes). Such a huge amount of data has to be stored somewhere, and that's where 100TB HDDs and 300TB SSDs come into play.
