Xpeng Motors has set a new goal for intelligent driving: full coverage of XNGP by 2024, and a significant reduction in safety accident rates
Xpeng Motors announced a series of eye-catching intelligent driving development goals at its recent New Year launch conference. According to the company's plan, by 2024, they will achieve full coverage of the XNGP intelligent assisted driving system in major urban road networks across the country and begin the research and development of high-speed NGP globally. In 2025, Xpeng Motors aims to focus its research and development on the XNGP system worldwide. This series of goals further demonstrates Xpeng Motors’ ambitions in intelligent driving technology.
Xpeng Motors founder and chairman He Xiaopeng revealed at the press conference that the company currently has an AI R&D data operations team of more than 3,000 people, focusing on autonomous driving technology R&D and innovation. The company invests up to 3.5 billion yuan in research and development every year to ensure that it maintains its leading position in the field of intelligent driving. He Xiaopeng also emphasized the safety of smart driving, saying it is far superior to manual driving, and expressed his belief that smart driving can be 10 times safer than human driving. This view shows Xpeng Motors’ confidence in the field of intelligent driving and provides impetus for their investment in this field.
According to our understanding, Xpeng Motors has made important progress in the field of intelligent driving. As of January 1, 2024, Xiaopeng's XNGP intelligent assisted driving system has been fully released in 52 cities, and plans to expand coverage to 191 cities, bringing the total number of cities covered to 243. In addition, the available mileage for users of the full Max version has reached 569,000 kilometers. According to statistics in 2023, the penetration rate of Xpeng users in high-speed smart driving and urban smart driving has reached 94.7% and 83.2% respectively. The weekly average user penetration rate and weekly average mileage penetration rate of XNGP reached 71% and 40% respectively (including high-speed and urban scenarios). Under intelligent driving, the average accident rate per million kilometers for Xpeng owners in 2023 will be only 1/10 of that under manual driving, which fully proves the significant advantages of intelligent driving in terms of safety.
The above is the detailed content of Xpeng Motors has set a new goal for intelligent driving: full coverage of XNGP by 2024, and a significant reduction in safety accident rates. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
