News from this site on December 1, according to Bloomberg, Broadcom will lay off approximately 1,300 employees in California after completing its acquisition of VMware.

Broadcom will also review strategic options for two VMware business units, including End-User Computing and Environmental Protection Department (Carbon Black).

Insider said VMware will continue to operate as four divisions — Cloud Foundation, Tanzu, Software-Defined Edge, and Application Networking and Security — and that its boss Raghu Raghuram will serve as a technology advisor to CEO Tan.

After obtaining approval from Chinese regulatory authorities, Broadcom completed its US$69 billion acquisition of the cloud computing company on November 22 (note on this site: currently approximately 492.66 billion yuan).
