DJI has announced the launch of the new DJI Mini 4 Pro, bringing a new camera drone to amateur drone pilots and photographers. The DJI Mini 4 Pro is the successor to DJI’s 2022 model, but offers more versatility and more advanced technology for shooting while maintaining a low weight of 249 grams
DJI Mini 4 Pro uses a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and is equipped with a new image processing platform, which includes dual native ISO fusion technology. This technique combines shooting at different ISO levels for better detail and dynamic range
DHI Mini 4 Pro shoots at 48 million pixels, using 4-in-1 Quad Bayer pixel binning, with a pixel size of 2.4μm, above its f/1.7 aperture. There will be 4K60FPS HDR video recording, 4K100FPS slow-motion shooting and a clearer night shooting video mode, as well as drone enhancements.
The drone now also offers true vertical shooting, optimizing your recordings for social media platforms and smartphone viewing. It also features a 60° large-angle tilt for greater shooting flexibility, and can enlarge photos (2x) and videos (4x) in addition to digital video zoom.
For true professionals, DJI Mini 4 Pro features 10-bit D-Log M recording on top of 48MP RAW for post-production needs.
LightCut is an app-based footage editing software for DJI Mini 4 Pro that combines the drone’s multiple proprietary shooting techniques into one impressive aerial shot. It can handle clips from ActiveTrack, MasterShots (motion templates for shooting) and QuickShots (fancy aerial moves, again for more shots)
DJI Mini 4 Pro now offers omnidirectional obstacle sensing and APAS 5.0 (Advanced Pilot Assistance System). These provide automatic braking and obstacle avoidance to the drone's flight capabilities, allowing it to avoid obstacles from all angles. It also comes with a built-in return-to-home system so the drone can find its way back to you after running low on battery.
According to DJI, the Mini 4 Pro has a flight time of 34 minutes, and you have the option to extend that to 45 minutes with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus add-on
