Honeycomb Energy recently announced that it has started supplying high-performance batteries required for MINI electric vehicles. This battery uses the ternary high-nickel plus silicon system battery cell developed by Honeycomb Energy, which has excellent energy density and can reach 260 watt hours per kilogram. MINI plans to launch two pure electric models next year. The entry-level MINI Cooper E will be equipped with a 184-horsepower electric motor and a 40.7-kWh battery pack. The high-end MINI Cooper will be equipped with a more powerful 160-horsepower electric motor and a 54.2-kilowatt-hour battery pack.
