According to the news, Microsoft’s Xbox chief Phil Spencer sent an email to company employees this morning regarding the recent massive Xbox leaks
Spencer stated that Microsoft’s Xbox plans "inadvertently leaked" as part of FTC v. Microsoft case. He said the leaked documents were "old documents," many of which were more than a year old, and that Microsoft's plans had changed.
In any case, these Xbox documents do reveal a lot of information to us, such as disk-less Seeies Bethesda games, and there's even talk of acquiring Nintendo.
# Spencer said Microsoft's plans may have changed, especially since many of the documents are several years old. "I know this is disappointing for a lot of people, even though many of the documents are from over a year ago, our plans have changed."
Spencer shared on X (formerly Twitter) issued a similarly brief statement, "We've seen discussions surrounding old emails and files. It's sad to see our team's work shared with you in this way because so much has changed now and There's a lot to look forward to in the future. We'll share our real plans when we're ready."
The following is the full text of Spencer's memo to Xbox employees attached to this site:
Hello Everyone
Today, some of the documents we submitted to the court related to the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard were accidentally leaked. I know this is disappointing, even though many of these documents are over a year old and our plans have changed.
I also understand that we all take the confidentiality of our program and partner information very seriously. This leak clearly failed to live up to our expectations. We will also learn lessons and do better moving forward. We all put a lot of passion and energy into our work and would never expect us to share our work with the community in this way. Still, there's a lot of exciting things waiting for us, and we'll share our real plans with players when we're ready.
Finally, I want to thank everyone on the Xbox team for their hard work and bringing surprises and joy to our players. In the coming days and weeks, let’s continue to focus on what we can control: continuing to drive the massive success of Starfield, the upcoming release of Forza Horizon, and continuing to deliver hundreds of Games, services and equipment enjoyed by millions of players
phil
