Beta Channel Insiders will have to sit back and wait for this news to come out, as the latest version released by Microsoft has absolutely nothing to do with them.
This week’s rollout is available to users with Insider business on the Dev Channel and is build number 225131.
You'll definitely want to know all the changes and fixes that come with this new software, so we're going to jump right into it and see for ourselves.
What’s new in Dev Channel Build 25131?
First of all, you should know that this latest Dev Channel release actually fixes an issue that caused some Insider PCs with certain AMD processors to bugcheck when trying to upgrade to last week's flights and roll back.
Additionally, the same issue is believed to be the reason some Insiders are experiencing bugchecking after enabling SVM in their PC's bios during their last build.
Another issue that needs to be addressed is an issue that is preventing some Insiders with secondary accounts on their PCs from upgrading to the latest version.
Let’s take a look at the other fixes that have made their way into the OS via recent Insider builds:
Fixes
[File Manager]
The new folder icon used in the command bar should be consistent with the one now used in the context menu.
Fixed an issue that could cause File Explorer to hang when browsing a folder containing a large number of .mkv files.
Fixed an issue that caused searching from the home page to sometimes not return any results from the Open or Save dialog boxes (when results were returned from File Explorer).
[Search]
Searching for something like %appdata% should now show a proper folder icon instead of just A blank square.
When selecting "Open file location" for a search result, it should now select the file in the folder again instead of just opening the folder.
[Settings]
Searching for "default" will now return the default application settings page as the first result and does not require you to single Click "Show all results" to view it.
Fixed an issue where the "Listen to this device" audio option would stop working after a reboot until unchecked and rechecked.
Narrator will now read out the values of the radio buttons in the " Settings" > "Accessibility " > "Color Filter" page location to make it easier to navigate.
[Other]
Hover over "Do you like what you see?" Use Windows Spotlight on the Lock Screen , the shadow extending to the bottom of the screen should no longer be displayed.
Fixed an issue that caused some frame rate monitoring applications to impact game performance.
Fixed an issue that could cause rounded corners to be unexpectedly pixelated at certain scale factors.
Known issues
[General]
##[New] Surface Pro X Windows Insiders on the device will try to restore a black screen from hibernation on this build. You need to power cycle (long power button to power off) to get back into the device. Insiders on these devices are advised to pause flying until we release a version with this fix.
[New] We are investigating reports that shutting down through the Start menu does not work for some Insiders and restarts unexpectedly.
Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause your PC to crash.
[Live Subtitles]
Some full-screen apps (such as video players) prevent live subtitles from displaying.
Certain applications that are located near the top of the screen and are closed before running live captions will relaunch behind the live caption window located at the top. Use the system menu (ALT Spacebar) while the application has focus to move the application's window further down.
Build 25131 comes with a new Store version (
22205.1401.3.0 )
The Redmond-based technology company also started publishing on the Dev Channel Microsoft Store updates are being rolled out to Windows Insiders. We will get:
Native Arm64 support
Improved app updates
Android apps with improved pop-up store experience Supports
Faster navigation
Improved UX for viewing options for movies and TV shows
That’s pretty much what we’re seeing in Windows 11 Build 25131. Lots of fixes and a brand new version for the Microsoft Store, bringing even more tweaks.
