Almost everyone has a phone on them everywhere they go. While the battery life of most devices is enough to get you through the day, there might be a couple of times when you forget to charge. So, when that happens, you need an emergency power source like the Ugreen Nexode 12000mAh Power Bank.

The Ugreen Nexode 12000mAh Power Bank has a 100-watt fast charging output, allowing me to quickly charge my devices. I drained my Samsung S24 Ultra down to 2% and plugged it into the portable battery, and it took about 70 minutes to get to 100%. However, you should note that my phone is limited to a 45-watt charge speed. If you have a faster charging device, it will take about half an hour to get it to full from near empty.
When the power bank itself is at zero, it takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to charge it at 65 watts. While these numbers aren’t mind-blowing, they should be more than enough to get you through an emergency. Aside from that, its size and weight make it the perfect power bank to put in your electronics bag. It comes in at less than 312 grams or 11 ounces, just a little over the weight of my iPhone with its case on, and you can grasp it in one hand, making it convenient to carry.
Enough Capacity for a Phone and a Half

I charged the Ugreen Nexode 12000mAh Power Bank to 100% before I plugged my S24 Ultra into it to see how much capacity it had. When it completed powering up my phone, the power bank still had about 30% left. This should be enough to get me a few more hours on my phone should it run low again, and I’ve completely forgotten to refill this portable battery. This capacity also means that if my phone and my earbuds or smartwatch run out of juice simultaneously, I can still get both gadgets to 100%.
This isn’t enough capacity if you spend a couple of days away from an outlet and have a laptop, tablet, phone, and several electronic devices with you. But if you’re always on the go in an urban area, this power bank would be enough to get you through the day. Alternatively, if you’re taking a long flight and you plan to binge-watch on your phone with your noise-canceling earbuds, this should be enough to get you to your destination, provided all your gear has full batteries at take-off.
Two USB Ports for Power

This power bank has two USB ports—one USB Type-C and the other USB Type-A—for your convenience. However, it doesn’t mean that you should use them simultaneously. The USB Type-C port has a maximum output of 100 watts, which is useful for fast charging just about any device. On the other hand, the USB Type-A port delivers 22.5 watts. While not as fast as the other port, this is already impressive given the age of this technology.
But when you use both USB ports, the maximum output drops to 10 watts. This makes charging excruciatingly slow, so I highly recommend against two-device charging on this power bank unless you’re taking a long nap.
If you’re charging a low-power device with this power bank, like earbuds or a smartwatch, Ugreen recommends turning on trickle charging mode. You can do this by pressing the power button for about three seconds, and the screen will show a rotating symbol to tell you that it’s activated. This mode will prevent the power bank from turning itself off because of the low power draw of your device for 3.5 hours.
Ugreen’s Signature Cute Symbols

Ugreen is known for placing cute icons on its power banks and charging adapters, and this power bank is no different. The LCD home screen will show the battery level left, but after 20 seconds, it will revert to screen saver mode. When the battery level is between 80 and 100%, you’ll get two heart symbols, turning into gleeful eyes when the power is between 20 and 79%. But if you have less than 20% remaining, this will turn into a pair of straight eyes.
While these icons don’t show much information, they at least let the power bank save a little bit more power. But if you’re really trying to maximize your power bank, you can just double-click the power button to turn off the screen.
Should You Buy the Ugreen Nexode 12000mAh Power Bank?
There are a lot of generic power banks out there that are cheaper, but you should stick to reputable brands, like Ugreen, for safety and reliability. But if you look at its competition, the Ugreen Nexode 12000mAh Power Bank is one of the best options if you want something small, handy, and easy to slip into your laptop backpack. At less than $50, you will have a portable battery backup with you all the time, allowing you to charge up your devices if you forget to fill them up while you are sleeping.
