Spending time with your allies has been a fun side activity in Zenless Zone Zero since launch, and with the 1.4 update, the system expanded to include a new Quality Time feature. In it, you won't only meet your Agent friends for coffee or around town; you can actually make a day of it, exploring the various hub areas and even sharing some emotional moments together.
Not only can you grow closer to all the friends you've made with Quality Time, there are also rewards for doing so, in case you need something a bit more tangible to get involved.
How Quality Time Works
As with all the Agent Trust events, you first need to have obtained the character to build Trust with them. If you're a newer player, your list will be relatively small but grow as you play, especially if you pull on the limited and standard character banners.
Once you have a character in your roster, you need to build Trust through the regular events and text invitation system, then advance their Trust to level two, Friendly, marked by the green smiling face in your text chat feed.
Reaching Trust Rank 2, you'll unlock Quality Time. The option to launch it will appear at the bottom of the Invitation screen. Opening the Quality Time screen will showcase that character's Dynamic Wallpaper, and at the bottom right, you can select Spend Time to choose a destination where you and the Agent can spend some time together.
Each Agent has five Wish Events, specific actions they desire to take at that location, and said location will be marked by a blue objective pin. For example, one of Tsukishiro Yanagi's Wishes is to take a picture at the overlook in Lumina Square. Doing so with her will significantly increase her Trust rank with you.
You'll also choose responses to NPC questions or statements like regular Trust events. Responding correctly increases Trust. As always, your responses should cater to the character's interests and quirks.
Once you complete the main objective in Quality Time, you'll enter Free Roam, where you can wander the various hub areas the character frequents. Members of Section 6 have access to Sixth Street, Lumina Square, and Hand Headquarters, for instance.
Each character has five Fun Events across their specific locations. Completing Fun Events is as simple as wandering the zone with them until a message in the top right says, "It seems like there's something [character name] is interested in nearby..."
When you see the message, look for any specific landmarks, like the Noodle or Coffee shops, and see if the character reacts with a small jingle and an exclamation point above their heads. If they do, give them a moment to approach the location and say a few words about it.
You can even play video games with your friends at the Godfinger Arcade on Sixth Street, and you'll be matched against two other real players in the two multiplayer games on offer.
Quality Time Rewards
Quality Time is an awesome way to immerse yourself in the world of Zenless Zone Zero, and if you ever wanted to take a picture with your favorite character or a portrait of them in a scenic spot, now you can.
There are, however, some more monetary reasons to spend time with your Agents, as you can earn precious Polychromes, Inter-Knot Credits, Skill upgrade materials, and Dennies for your troubles.
Specifically, you can earn the following for spending Quality Time with your allies:
|
Rewards | Reward Amount | ||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Complete a Wish Event | One reward for each Event, up to five events | |||||||||||||
Complete a Fun Event | Rewards at one, three, and five Events completed | |||||||||||||
Play a Game at Godfinger | Rewards for the first two full game matches played |
Interestingly, Hoshimi Miyabi is available for quality time at the default Trust Rank using a standard text message, though no additional rewards are available until she reaches Rank 2, Friendly.
You can increase her Trust level on these invitations, and can Free Roam, but cannot fast travel or engage in Quality Time Events.
There is no tangible reason to continue engaging with the Quality Time system once you've exhausted all of a character's events unless you want to be a bit more immersed or have an idea for a cool or cute photo. Those can be more than reason enough.
