After opening the [General Options] dialog box, enter the password you want to set in the [Open Permission Password] column, click [OK] and enter the password again, and then save Excel. You can save Excel as a new file. You can also directly overwrite the original file.

Cancel password:
Let’s take a look again. Can the password be canceled after setting it? We can look at it in two situations.
If you remember the password, you no longer need password protection, that is, you do not want to have to do the "enter password" step every time you open the Excel table. You can cancel it as follows:
First open the Excel table with the password, and then follow the operation path to set the password to bring up the password dialog box. Whether you use "Method 1" or "Method 2" to set the password, you can see it in the password column. For the originally set password, you only need to select and delete the password, turn it into a blank column, and then save the Excel to cancel "Open Password".
