WordPress reading settings


In this chapter, we will look at Reading Settings in WordPress. Reading settings are used to set content related to the home page. You can set the number of posts to display on your homepage.

Here are the steps to access reading settings:

Step (1) - Click Settings → Reading in WordPress options.

Step (2) - The read settings page is displayed as shown below.

The following are the details of the fields that are read.

  • Front page displays(Home page display) - This section is used to display the home page in any of the following formats:

    • Your latest posts (Latest Posts)- It displays the latest posts on the homepage.

    • A static page(static page) - It displays the static page on the homepage.

    • Front Page(首页) - You can select the actual page you want to display on the front page from the drop-down list.

    • Posts Page- You can select a page from a drop-down list that contains posts.

  • Blog pages show at most(博网页地址是多少) - Posts to be displayed on each page or website number. By default, it is set to 10.

  • Syndication feeds show the most recent( Syndication feeds show the most recent) - Users can view the number of posts when downloading one of the website feeds . By default, it is set to 10.

  • For each article in a feed, show - This section is used to display posts by selecting any of the following formats:

    • Full Text(全文) - It displays the complete article. It is set to default value.

    • Summary(Summary) - Displays a summary of the post.

  • ##Search Engine Visibility (Search Engine Visibility) - After clicking the checkbox, Block Search engines index this site and your site will be ignored by search engines.

Step (3)

- After filling in all the information, click the Save Changes button to save the reading settings information.
