According to statistics from the China Chemical and Physical Power Sources Industry Association, from January to December 2023, my country’s cumulative export volume of lithium-ion batteries reached US$65.007 billion, an increase of 27.8% compared with US$50.876 billion in the same period in 2022. A new historical record was set. This growth demonstrates China's increasing competitiveness in the global lithium-ion battery market. With the rapid development of electric vehicles and renewable energy, lithium-ion batteries, as important energy storage devices, will continue to play an important role in the future. Data from the China Chemical and Physical Power Supply Industry Association show that my country’s lithium-ion battery export volume

The cumulative export volume of my country's lithium-ion batteries from January to December 2023 was 3.621 billion units, and the same period in 2022 was 3.765 billion units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.8%. Among them, the export value of lithium-ion batteries in December 2023 was US$5.281 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 10.26% and a month-on-month decrease of 4.5%; the number of lithium-ion battery exports in December 2023 was 300 million, a year-on-year decrease of 1% and a month-on-month increase of 2.7%.

From January to December 2023, my country's largest lithium-ion battery export market is still the United States, with an export value of US$13.549 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33.94%, accounting for my country's lithium-ion battery export value 20.8%; the second largest market is Germany, with an export value of US$9.335 billion, accounting for 14.4% of my country's lithium-ion battery exports; South Korea is the third largest market, with an export value of US$7.850 billion, accounting for 14.4% of my country's lithium-ion battery exports 12.1%.

From January to December 2023, Fujian Province was the largest source of my country's lithium-ion battery export products, with an export value of US$18.26 billion, a year-on-year increase of 43.96%. It jumped to first place in 2023, accounting for 28.1% of my country's lithium-ion battery exports; Guangdong Province dropped from first place in the same period in 2022 to second place in 2023, with an export value of US$15.481 billion, accounting for 28.1% of my country's lithium-ion battery exports. Jiangsu Province ranked third with an export volume of US$13.029 billion, accounting for 20.04% of my country's lithium-ion battery export volume. Lithium-ion battery exports from Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces accounted for 71.9% of the country's lithium-ion battery exports.

According to data, from January to December 2023, my country's lithium-ion battery exports showed different growth trends in different regions. In Europe, the export value reached US$25.417 billion, accounting for 39.1% of my country's lithium-ion battery exports, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%. The export value of Asia was US$20.646 billion, accounting for 31.8%, a year-on-year increase of 25.8%. The export value of North America was US$14.098 billion, accounting for 21.7%, a year-on-year increase of 36.6%. It is worth noting that Africa will become the fastest growing region for my country's lithium-ion battery exports in 2023, with a year-on-year increase of 109.5%. Followed by South America, a year-on-year increase of 55.3%. This shows that my country's demand for lithium-ion batteries in the global market continues to grow and its market share is gradually expanding. In general, my country's lithium-ion battery exports in 2023 will perform well in Europe, Asia and North America, while Africa and South America will also show a rapid growth trend. This data reflects the competitiveness of my country's lithium-ion battery industry and the broad prospects of the international market.

According to data from the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, domestic power battery exports reached 127.4 GWh last year, accounting for 83.5% of total lithium-ion battery exports. CATL, BYD and Funeng Technology are the three companies with the largest export volume. It is worth mentioning that CATL is headquartered in Ningde, Fujian.
