According to news from this website on November 20, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India issued a document announcing that the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved a bill for IT hardware on May 17, 2023. Incentive Program (PLI) 2.0, covers laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, servers and ultra-small devices.

It is understood that the PLI program has approved the applications of 27 IT hardware manufacturers, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and other well-known brands. During the validity period of the plan, the expected results of this approval are as follows:

  • About 200,000 jobs: About 50,000 direct jobs, and about 150,000 indirect jobs

  • IT hardware output value: 42 billion U.S. dollars (note on this site: currently about 303.24 billion yuan)

  • InboundInvest: US$360 million (currently about 2.599 billion yuan)
