HTC VIVE officially issued a statement today, planning to send an adjusted microgravity-friendly version of the VIVE Focus 3 VR all-in-one machine to the International Space Station during NASA's supply launch on November 7th
Once there, Danish astronaut Andreas Morgensen will test the viability of VIVE Focus 3 for relieving mental stress. These mental stresses come from the "lack of privacy, high frequency and variable workload, and separation from loved ones" inherent to working in space.
HTC has teamed up with XRHealth’s virtual reality therapy company and aerospace research and development company Nord-Space ApS to develop a “virtual assisted mental balance program” to try to meet the unique needs of astronauts.
IT Home Inquiry learned that HTC launched VIVE Focus 3 in July 2021, with a price tag of 10,688 yuan on the official website. It is positioned relatively high-end and is mainly aimed at corporate users.
In September 2022, HTC announced the launch of the "Eye Tracking Kit" and "Emotion Detection Kit" of VIVE Focus 3 to enhance the realism of human-computer interaction in the virtual world
