(Nweon September 21, 2023) Varjo recently announced that the price of the high-end Aero VR headset will be permanently reduced by 50%, from the original $1,999 to the current $990 (before tax).
Aero was first released in October 2021. It weighs 487 grams, has a single-eye resolution of 2880 x 2720 (7.8MP), uses Mini LED LCD (2x), and has a refresh rate of 90Hz. Angular field of view is 134 degrees (horizontal 115 degrees). It supports optically adjustable IPD (driven by automatic motor, ranging from 57mm to 73mm), and supports both eye tracking and SteamVR Tracking 1.0 or 2.0 and above
However, Aero is not equipped with a "bionic display" (providing retinal resolution in the center of the field of view) and does not have advanced see-through AR capabilities. But even without a bionic display, Aero still offers an amazing 35 PPD aspherical lens.
As the price continues to drop, this device will be more focused on business customers, and the threshold for professional virtual reality will be significantly lowered
The high-end head display Aero VR is currently priced at US$990 (before tax). If you are interested, please visit the company’s official website.
