China Railway officially announced that the first trial run train G55302 of the Guangzhou to Shanwei High-speed Railway (Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway) slowly departed from Guangzhou Xintang Station at 10:00 on August 29 and arrived at Shanwei Station 50 minutes later. This news marks that the Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway has entered the train operation test phase, and the full line is about to be put into operation. Guangzhou Xintang Station passes through the four urban areas of Guangzhou, Huizhou, Shenzhen-Shantou Cooperation Zone and Shanwei, and ends at Shanwei Station in the east.
The total length of the line is about 202 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.It spans two major rivers, Zengcheng Zengjiang and Boluo Dongjiang, and one bay, Shanwei Changsha Bay. It has Xintang, Zengcheng, Luofu Mountain, Boluo, There are 8 stations including Huizhou South, Huidong, Shenshan and Shanwei. Among them, Xintang Station and Shanwei Station are existing stations, and the other 6 stations are new stations.

The Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway connects Beijing-Guangzhou, Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Hangzhou-Shenzhen, Beijing-Hong Kong and other railway lines. It is a key project in Guangdong Province. After it is put into operation,
the shortest running time of the high-speed train from Guangzhou to Shanwei will be compressed from the current 2 hours to less than 1 hour.
