Apple's 'Yu'E Bao” business is troubled by cash withdrawals: users encounter long delays
According to news on June 2, Apple and Goldman Sachs cooperated to launch the "Yue Bao" business (Apple Savings) has recently caused some users to have withdrawal problems. According to user feedback, due to automatic anti-money laundering protection mechanisms, the waiting time for withdrawals can be as long as several weeks.
One of the users, Nathan Thacker initiated a withdrawal request on May 15, hoping to withdraw US$1,700 (approximately RMB 12,087) to his JPMorgan Chase account. However, after a long wait, he contacted Goldman Sachs' customer service department many times, but always received the same reply: He would have to wait a few more days. Finally, it was not until June 1 that the money was successfully deposited into his account, and the entire withdrawal process took more than two weeks.
Some users also complained that Apple’s “Yue Bao” business has a cash withdrawal system loophole. After they applied for cash withdrawal, the withdrawn amount not only did not appear in their Apple account, but was also not successfully transferred to their designated bank account.
According to the editor’s understanding, Kevin Smith, a user from Minnesota Smyth attempted to transfer $10,000 from his Apple account to a U.S. bank on May 16. However, the payment was flagged for a security review and remains in limbo until the review is completed.
Regarding these issues, Goldman Sachs made a public response, stating that most users’ withdrawals will not experience long delays and are usually completed within 5 days. In addition, Goldman Sachs explained that when users choose to withdraw funds to a bank card different from the recharge account, there will be a certain delay in the system in order to avoid money laundering.
Users faced some challenges and user experience issues during the cash withdrawal process when using the "Yue Bao" business launched by Apple and Goldman Sachs. Users are reminded to be prepared when performing withdrawal operations and wait patiently for Goldman Sachs withdrawals to be completed.
