According to news on May 9, Microsoft 365 Copilot is an innovative feature first announced by Microsoft in March this year. It uses AI technology to provide artificial intelligence creation support for Office productivity applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). At that time, Microsoft only invited 20 enterprise customers to participate in the test and collect their feedback on Copilot.

Their feedback was almost unanimous that Copilot has the potential to revolutionize the way they work. They noted that it was a game changer for meetings and starting to change the way they create. And, they found We can do more, such as helping people adapt to this new way of working, such as providing more conversational, multi-round interactions."

Today, Microsoft announced a new plan to Copilot's testing is expanded to include more users. The program, called the Microsoft 365 Copilot Early Access Program, will initially be open to more than 600 customers as a paid preview. Microsoft did not disclose the specific price of this paid preview.

IT House noticed that since the announcement of Microsoft 365 Copilot in March, Microsoft has revealed that more applications will add Copilot AI functions, including OneNote, Viva and SharePoint wait. Today, Microsoft also announced that more apps will be adding Copilot AI capabilities:

  • Copilot in Whiteboard will make Microsoft Teams meetings and brainstorming more creative and productive. You can make requests to Copilot using natural language and let it generate ideas, organize them into topics, create designs that showcase the ideas, and summarize whiteboard content.
  • With the integration of OpenAI’s image generator DALL-E into PowerPoint, users can request the creation of custom images from Copilot to support their content.
  • Copilot in Outlook will provide guided tips and advice on clarity, emotion, and tone to help users write more effective emails and communicate with more confidence.
  • Copilot will use prompts to plan, generate ideas, create lists, and organize information in OneNote to help customers find what they need easily.
  • Copilot helps your team stay in sync in Loops by quickly summarizing everything on your Loop pages so everyone is aligned and able to collaborate effectively.
  • Copilot will use a natural language chat interface in Viva Learning to help users create personalized learning journeys, including designing paths to improve skills, discovering relevant learning resources and scheduling time for designated training.

Additionally, all Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 customers will receive Copilot’s semantic indexing capabilities. Microsoft says this feature will create a searchable map of user and company data for companies, even if they don't use Microsoft 365 Copilot. For example, when asking for "March Sales Report," it's not just looking for documents that contain those words in their file names or text. Instead, it understands that “the sales report was created in Excel by Kelly from the finance team” and uses this conceptual understanding to determine the user’s intent and help the user find what they need.
