Microsoft Edge and Bing partner with DALL·E to offer text-based image creation

Microsoft plans to use the latest artificial intelligence technology to improve its Bing search engine and Edge browser. After integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT last month, "Bing Image Creator" has arrived on iOS/Android and desktop, powered by an "advanced version" of OpenAI's DALL·E, which lets you create images with just text.
Today, Microsoft published a blog post announcing the launch of Bing Image Creator. In a review last month, the company said its ChatGPT integration has been used in more than 100 million chats and now it's ready to "take the chat experience to the next level by making the new Bing even more intuitive."
We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing Bing Image Creator, new AI-driven visual stories, and updated knowledge cards to the new Bing and Edge preview. Powered by an advanced version of the DALL∙E model from our partner OpenAI, Bing Image Creator lets you create an image by simply describing the image you want to see using your own words. Now you can generate written and visual content from chats in one place.
Microsoft also highlighted images as “one of the most searched categories — second only to general web searches.” The company claims that with Bing Image Creator, there are almost no limits to what you can search and create. ”
How to Test Bing Image Creator
Microsoft says that Bing Image Creator “is integrated into Bing Chat and will be rolling out to Bing preview users on desktop and mobile devices starting today. If you haven't signed up for Bing Preview yet, you can sign up now and get on the waitlist.
For those who are not in the new Bing preview, you can preview Bing Image Creator at bing.com/create. Microsoft states that it is currently only available in English, but will add support for more languages over time. ”
In addition to the new feature available in Bing, Microsoft says it is also present in the latest Edge browser.
Starting today, on Microsoft Edge, the Image Creator icon will appear in in the sidebar on desktop and mobile devices. In addition, Microsoft “will soon integrate Image Creator into Edge through the new Bing button in chat mode in Edge preview. ”
