While there were rumors that Apple might release a new iMac Pro with mini-LED technology this spring, the product appears to have been delayed. The new iMac Pro could launch as early as sometime in the summer. Apple Silicon iMac Pro with mini-LED display coming this summer

The 2021 MacBook Pro will feature a mini-LED display with ProMotion. The product is now expected to launch in the summer. It's expected to still feature mini-LED technology, but with "less area" than what's used in the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro.

Late last year, we said a new MiniLED iMac Pro would be coming in 2022. We thought it would arrive in the spring, but now we're hearing it could be summer. Of course, it could be delayed further into the fall. One of Apple's supply challenges for this product is getting more MiniLEDs.

On the display side, we've heard it might not have as many MiniLED areas and MiniLEDs as on the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. We are also questioning whether it will be IGZO. I don't think so, as power consumption isn't an issue and there's little benefit to lowering the monitor's refresh rate to 24Hz like the IGZO does. The higher mobility of IGZO compared to a-Si also helps achieve the required resolution at higher brightness, but the brightness of the MiniLED should not be an issue. So, we'd like to see an amorphous silicon panel and we'll see if we're right.

The new iMac Pro will feature mini-LED and ProMotion 120Hz technology, just like the new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro devices. DSCC also reports that the redesigned iMac will still feature a 27-inch display, similar to the current model.

Apple may bring back the “iMac Pro” branding for its new Apple Silicon-powered iMacs. The machine is said to have a chip similar to the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors used in the MacBook Pro. The design will reportedly be similar to the current 24-inch M1 iMac.

While there has been speculation that the new iMac Pro could be announced at a spring event in March or April, it now seems more likely that the machine will be announced at WWDC 2022 in June.

Yang’s reasoning in DSCC Weekly makes sense. Analysts explained that the new mini-LED MacBook Pro and iPad Pro saw "strong demand and outperformed expectations." This is eating into Apple's supply chain supply of mini-LED panels.
