GPT-4 is about to be released to support multi-modality Microsoft: AI may give rise to new professions

Microsoft Germany Chief Technology Officer Andreas Braun mentioned at today’s artificial intelligence launch event that GPT- 4 is coming soon and will support multi-modality.

In an event called "AI in Focus - Digital Kickoff", four members of Microsoft Germany detailed large language models (LLMs) like the GPT family as a part of what the company and its Azure-OpenAI offer Disruptive force. Andreas Braun, Microsoft Germany's chief technology officer and head of data and artificial intelligence, downplayed what he said was the imminent release of GPT-4. Since the release of Kosmos-1 in early March, Microsoft is working with OpenAI to optimize multi-modality.

Braun said: "Next week we will launch GPT-4, and there will be models that support multi-modality, which will provide completely different possibilities - such as video." CTO LLM are a “game changer” because they teach machines to understand natural language and thus statistically understand content that was previously only readable and understandable by humans. At the same time, technology has advanced to the point where it's basically "available in all languages": you can ask a question in German and get an answer in Italian. With multimodality, Microsoft (-OpenAI) will "make models more comprehensive."

In her keynote speech at the "AI in Focus" event, Microsoft Germany CEO Marianne Janik emphasized the value creation potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in the company. She highlighted current AI developments and ChatGPT as being like an "iPhone moment." Janik emphasized that disruption through AI does not necessarily mean job losses, but the creation of exciting new careers and changes in traditional job descriptions. She suggested that companies set up internal "competition centers" to train employees in AI and bundle project ideas. Janik also emphasized Microsoft's commitment to not using customer data to train models and "democratizing" AI by making it widely available in the Azure platform, Outlook and Teams.
