HomeBackend DevelopmentPHP ProblemHow to implement jump and pass parameters in php header

When using PHP to develop web applications, we often use PHP's header function to jump to the page and transfer parameters. It is very simple to jump to a page. You only need to add the following statement to the PHP code:

header('Location: http://www.example.com');

In this way, the browser will automatically jump to the page http://www.example.com, so We can guide the user to the page we want and realize page jump.

But what if we want to pass some parameters at the same time when jumping? This requires the use of the GET and POST methods in the HTTP protocol.

When passing parameters, we can use the GET method to append the parameters to the URL, or we can use the POST method to pass the parameters to the server.

The method of passing parameters through the GET method is as follows:

header('Location: http://www.example.com?param1=value1&param2=value2');

Add the ? sign after the URL, and then use the & symbol to separate multiple parameters. Each parameter can use key= passed in the form of value. For example, in the above code, we added two parameters: param1 and param2, which are assigned values 1 and value2 respectively.

The method of passing parameters through the POST method is as follows:

$params = array('param1' => 'value1', 'param2' => 'value2');
header('Location: http://www.example.com', true, 307);
echo "
"; foreach ($params as $key => $value) {     echo ""; } echo "
"; echo "<script>document.getElementById(&#39;postForm&#39;).submit();</script>";

This method is more complicated and needs to be implemented through an HTML form, but more parameter contents and parameter values can be passed. In this method, we first define an array $params to store the parameters that need to be passed, and then submit these parameters to the target address through the HTML form to complete the parameter transfer. It is worth noting that we need to set the second parameter (true) in the header function to ensure that the status code returns 307 correctly. This status code is a temporary redirect, which indicates that the current request is a POST request and the client should be redirected to a new address.

Of course, we can also pass more complex parameters, such as passing an array or object. At this time, we need to serialize the parameters and then pass them over. For example:

$data = array('name' => 'Tom', 'age' => 20);
$params = http_build_query(array('data' => serialize($data)));

header('Location: http://www.example.com?' . $params);

In this code, we first use the serialization function serialize to convert the array $data into a string, and then use the http_build_query function to encode the string and splice it into the URL to complete the parameter transfer. In the target URL, we only need to use the query string to read the parameters and then deserialize them.

In short, PHP's header function provides us with very convenient page jump and parameter passing functions. We only need to add the necessary parameters in the PHP code to implement efficient web applications.
