Super Robot Wars Y's Expanded Roster Revealed: Godzilla, Dunbine, and More!

The initial teaser for Super Robot Wars Y was understandably light on details, a common practice for the series. However, a more comprehensive trailer has dropped, revealing a robust and exciting lineup of mecha.

One of the biggest surprises is the inclusion of Godzilla Singular Point and its iconic robot, Jet Jaguar. This is a welcome addition, although the absence of the over-the-top battleships featured in previous installments is noted. While Super Robot Wars Y does include its own original battleship, similar to Super Robot Wars 30, the absence of a ship from a series like Outlaw Star is a missed opportunity.

The return of Dunbine, along with units from its 1988 OVA, is another significant announcement. Given Dunbine's recent surge in popularity, we can likely expect a greater presence of Aura Battler Dunbine designs.

The Gundam representation is strong and seems geared toward a Western audience. A particularly exciting addition is Reideen, absent from the series for quite some time, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Further bolstering the roster are DLC units from Super Robot Wars V, X, and T, along with Cybuster, a familiar face from the Maso Kishin spin-off series and a long-time Super Robot Wars staple.

Adding to the excitement, one of the game's original mecha will receive a Robot Damashii toy release.

Super Robot Wars Y launches August 28th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.
