Director Ryan Coogler's next project is a reboot of The X-Files, not a sequel to his recent success. This isn't your typical reboot; Coogler aims for a project that will appeal to longtime fans while attracting new viewers. "I've been excited about this for a long time," Coogler shared, hinting at a genuinely frightening series. "Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f***ing scary."
Given Coogler's overall deal with Disney, the series will likely air on Hulu or Disney . While the original series spanned nine seasons and several films, followed by a two-season revival, this reboot won't simply recast Mulder and Scully. Anderson's involvement is currently in the works, though she was previously busy filming Tron: Ares. David Duchovny, however, hasn't been mentioned in discussions regarding the project.
