Forbes NYT Daily Riddle "Strands" Tips and Answers (April 3, 2025) Author: Paul Tassi
I've always loved the cleverness of the "Strands" riddle, but today's puzzle contains a tricky Pangram (with all 26 English letters) that can mislead you. Let's wait and see.
How to play Strands
The New York Times' Strands puzzle is a variation of the classic text search game. It is currently in beta, which means it will continue to exist only if there are enough people participating in the game every day.
There will be a new Strands game every day. The game will provide a letter grid of six rows and eight columns. The goal is to find a set of words that have common ground, and the game will give you a clue about the topic. When you find a topic word, it will be highlighted in blue.
You also need to find a special word called Pangram. It tells you what these words have in common. Pangram connects the sides of the board. The subject word will not be a proper noun, but Pangram can be a proper noun. When you find Pangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
Each letter is used only once in the subject words and Pangram. You can connect letters vertically, horizontally and diagonally, and you can change directions in the middle of the word. If you are playing the game on the touch screen, double-click the last letter to submit your guess.
If you find three valid words with at least four letters that are not part of the subject, you will unlock the Prompt button. Clicking on it will highlight the letters that make up one of the topic words.
Note: You need to be vigilant. Sometimes you need to fill in the missing words in the phrase. On other days, the game may revolve around synonyms or homophones. The difficulty will change day by day, and puzzle creators sometimes try to surprise you.
What is the Strands prompt today?
First is the New York Times tip, and then I will give my own tips.

What is the answer to Strands today?
The answer is as follows, we will first give Pangram and then list the complete answer list:
FLOORING (Flooring)
You can find it on the board:
The answer is:
- HARDWOOD (Hardwood)
- LAMINATE (Laminate)
- LINOLEUM (linoleum)
- TERRAZZO (terrazzo)
- CONCRETE (Concrete)
I was misled at first thinking it was a car-related puzzle, and of course, that's the cleverness of the puzzle. But finding the Pangram "FLOORING" didn't help me get rid of this idea. I started looking for words like "acceleration", and then I suddenly realized it when I found "linoleum". The rest is natural. what do you doing?

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
