While some games let you learn skills by simply leveling up or changing or learning a new class, you'll get them via Titles instead in Tales Of Graces F Remastered. They function like a class too: you can equip them as you want, and they don't share any experience progress.
With each one you learn, you'll get access to all sorts of new skills and bonuses to help you, but titles aren't just obtained by random or leveling up, though. Each one has a prerequisite for obtaining it, and with over fifty for each character, there's a ton of them to collect as you experience the story.
Information in the article below will be updated further as new information is discovered and as the need arises.
What Are Titles?
Titles are equippable titles that each character gets that not only gives them a passive bonus for as long as they are equipped, but allows them to learn new Artes, unlock attributes like resistance to certain monster types, or permanently increase their stats.
Each Title has five main ranks with a corresponding learned skill or passive, and then a final Mastery rank, which will improve its passive bonus when completed.
You can level up these ranks with SP obtained in regular battles, or by consuming Mastery Tonics, which give a character a set amount of SP.
Some Titles, such as Paralysisproof or Rapid Retriever, can be obtained by multiple characters as long as they meet the requirements.
They also come in six different categories based on how they're obtained, and you can unlock them through several different means.
This includes ways such as witnessing certain story events, using a specific Arte a specific number of times, completing a side quest, or just getting afflicted with a negative status enough times.
- Titles with a square symbol are Story Titles and are generally obtained via story events.
- Titles with a sword symbol are Combat Titles and are generally obtained by defeating certain enemies, defeating a specific number of enemies, using Artes a certain number of times, and other combat-related requirements.
- Titles with a gradient symbol are Specialty Titles and are generally obtained by hitting a certain extra stat, such as fighting in a certain number of battles or hitting a certain number of critical hits.
- Titles with a yellow shield symbol are Defense Titles and are generally obtained by completing certain side-quests or being afflicted with a particular status effect. They offer stat increases, defense against a status effect, or in some cases, new Artes.
- Titles with a red A symbol are A-Arte Titles and are obtained by using specific A-Artes a certain number of times, and they give that A-Arte different bonuses, as well as providing stat increases.
- Titles with an orange B symbol are B-Arte Titles and are obtained by using specific B-Artes a certain number of times, and they give that B-Arte different bonuses, as well as providing state increases.
- Titles with a cat ear symbol are Costume Titles and are obtained by obtaining certain cosmetic items for a character, and they usually only provide stat bonuses and an equippable costume, but some special costume titles also come with unique skills.
