Alura's free online event “7 Days of C#” offers an opportunity to learn and apply the main concepts of the C-Sharp language in a practical project.

Event Schedule

  • Day 1: On the first day, you will start a back-end application in C#, consuming the Pokémon API!. You will have to develop a functionality where the player can access a list of Pokémon species options and view their characteristics to facilitate their choice before adoption.
  • Day 2: On this day, you will parse the response obtained on the first day to extract the information from this JSON and display it in an organized way.
  • Day 3: Today you will work on data output by building an interactive menu, with fun options and messages for the user.
  • Day 4: In C#, it is common to organize projects into 3 layers using the MVC pattern. Today you will refactor your system to comply with this standard, with Model, View and Controller.
  • Day 5: This day's challenge is to develop player interactions with their pets. You will deal with attributes and can actually play with your Pokémon.
  • Day 6: Today the subject will be a common problem in the life of a back-end developer: mapping properties from one object to another. You will look in a library's documentation for the best way to do this.
  • Day 7: Handling user input errors has always been, and still is, a big problem when building software. On this day the challenge is to deal with possible error scenarios. Furthermore, you can publish your application so that other people can use it.
