Slitterhead has many hectic and intense moments, especially when it comes to its stories and the contrast between the humans and the Slitterheads, making for many white-knuckled moments throughout your journey. And that experience is only dialed up to eleven once Alex gets involved.
Alex is the 'shoot first, ask questions later' guy in the game. He just wants to see Slitterheads die at all costs, even if it puts his own life in danger. And this shines through during the Insidious Sucker mission, having him fight through waves and waves of them until he gets what he wants.
Starting Insidious Sucker In Slitterhead
For this mission, Alex will be the permanent Rarity as your primary slot, leaving you only with the Companion to choose. Either Edo or Julee will be great here. For us, we stuck with Julee as her Revive All Skill is incredibly potent and can keep everyone alive during hectic and intense moments.
Edo's benefit will be his Burning Edge Skill, which will provide a substantial damage boost to Alex, making him even more deadly than before. Again, both are excellent picks, and you can't really go wrong with either one of them for this mission!
Follow Slitterhead Aura
As soon as the mission begins, head right and follow the Slitterhead's aura into the back alley until you run into a woman in a polka-dotted top. Get next to her and Splatter Blood onto her, revealing she's actually a Slitterhead in disguise, causing it to flee from the scene. Begin chasing after it until it summons a group of lesser Slitterheads in front of you, impeding your progress.
Defeat The Waves Of Slitterheads
This is where things get kicked up a notch, even if the enemies are only the lesser versions of the Slitterheads. There will be many of them, and there will be three waves total, so be prepared for some carnage and destruction. Fortunately, Alex's Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo will work perfectly against them, but you may need additional help.
Use Blood Well to round them up, charge up your Bloody Blast, and obliterate their health, then switch to Julee and have her begin using her Sonic Claws and other Skills to continue carving them up. From here, you can use her Revive All Skill to top off Alex or switch to him and hold R1/RB to absorb Blood and heal that way.
Waves one and two won't be too bad, but the third one will be the true test, as there will be four lesser Slitterheads total, which can get pretty rough fast. Again, use Blood Well and Bloody Blast to shave off as much of their health as possible, then switch the Julee to finish them off!
Continue Chasing The Slitterhead
Next, you will have to relocate the Slitterhead, following its aura back to the main street where the markets are. The Slitterhead will be disguised as a lady in a white shirt with red dots. Locate them and put Splatter Blood on them to reveal they're the Slitterhead, causing them to run away again.
Chase them through the streets, landing hits on them whenever you can. They will periodically stop, allowing you to use your Blood Well to pull them into it, letting you charge up your Bloody Blast to deal massive amounts of damage. After dealing enough damage, they will flee back to the main street.
Defeat Slitterheads
After chasing the Slitterhead back into the main streets, it will summon more lesser Slitterheads, having you deal with them. This shouldn't be too challenging as there aren't many of them, so use Julee's Blood Claws and Alex's Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo to eliminate them swiftly.
The Slitterhead from earlier will return and transform into a Lesser Octopus Slitterhead, forcing you to deal with it. This encounter is also surprisingly easy, as the Slitterhead won't do too many attacks, allowing you to telegraph its moves. Using Blood Well and Bloody Blast will destroy its health, allowing Julee to use her Skills to finish it off.
Don't forget to switch to nearby civilians if you're low on health to give your Rarities time to get their Skills back or enough space to properly heal. If this encounter is giving you issues, try sticking with Julee until you get its health down most of the way, then use Alex and his Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo to finish it off!
Follow The Slitterhead To The Rooftop
Upon defeating the Lesser Octopus Slitterhead, a Slitterhead in a suit will beckon you to the rooftop, forcing you to chase after it. Use your Blood Jump to reach the green neon sign, possess the random civilian on the roof, and then head toward the lone woman at the opposite end.
Once you're here, you will get ambushed by two Slitterheads, but this encounter won't be too challenging, especially with Alex. Use his Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo to take them down past half-health, then switch to a random civilian, use War Cry, and lure the Slitterheads over to them.
Switch back to Alex and hold R1/RB to absorb Blood and replenish his health. From here, perform one more Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo to eliminate both of the Slitterheads simultaneously, triggering another brief cutscene.
Defeat The Zebra Octopus Slitterhead
Finally, you will get a showdown against the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead, which will play out like most of the other Octopus Slitterhead encounters you've experienced before. This time, however, we recommend using Julee first, as her heavy attacks and Sonic Claws can stagger it early on.
Julee can deal lots of damage to this thing early on, allowing Alex to show up and perform his Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo for even more damage, making this encounter go by with a snap of a finger. Like always, if you are low on health, Julee's Revive All Skill will save the day.
Additionally, you can parry and guard most of this Slitterhead's attacks, pushing the odds even more in your favor. It has one attack where it glows red, meaning you cannot guard or parry it, so get ready to evade that attack when it deploys it. Then, just rinse and repeat your strategy until it dies!
Insidious Sucker Rewards
Defeating the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead and clearing Insidious Sucker for the first time will provide you with an abundance of 24 Skill Tokens. Keep in mind, however, they are shared and can only be used once, so choose who gets the upgrades wisely.
You know it's coming; it's time to nudge you to listen to all 'Talk' dialogues immediately after finishing this mission, as it will unlock more missions for you to tackle or might even provide more hints that will ultimately lead to new Rarity. Do not sleep on this, as it is crucial to the game!
