Completing "Unfriendly Competition"

The entire quest unfolds in the Imperial City's Market District. The sole combat encounter takes place in the Arboretum district's mausoleum, pitting you against an armored foe and a magic-wielding opponent whose sword drains Willpower and Endurance.

The quest also includes a stealth segment requiring infiltration of a character's house via two locked doors. Lockpicks or picking the character's pocket for the keys are your options.

Starting the Quest

Initiate the quest by speaking to any of these Market District shopkeepers:

• Tertullian Verus (Three Brothers Trade Goods)
• Claudette Perrick (The Gilded Carafe)
• Ogier Georick (The Main Ingredient)
• Jensine (Jensine's "Good as New" Merchandise)

Mention "Thoronir" to learn about a new shop undercutting prices. If not speaking to Jensine, she'll be your next contact. Alternatively, visit Jensine directly and choose "Start from the beginning."

Following Thoronir

Your first task: follow Thoronir after closing (8:00 PM) to the Merchant's Inn. He'll depart around midnight. Continue following him.

Following Agarmir

Next, follow Agarmir to his Talos Plaza home. His door is barred from the inside, requiring stealth. Wait until around 7:45 PM. Pick the lock (Average difficulty) or pickpocket Agarmir for his keys.

Access his basement (also Average lock).

Locate the "Macabre Manifest," revealing Agarmir's grave robbing activities.

Return to Thoronir during business hours. Choose "Taken from the Dead" twice, then "Help me catch Agarmir," and finally, "Don't worry, I'll stop him."

Stopping Agarmir

Proceed southwest from Thoronir's shop to the graveyard. Enter the Trenitus Family Mausoleum.

Defeating Agarmir

The small space and Agarmir's Endurance/Willpower-draining sword pose challenges. Summoning creatures is highly effective for diverting attention. Use potions to restore Health, Fatigue, and Magicka.

Loot the Debaser sword and Agarmir's shovel.

Return to Thoronir ("Yes, here is his shovel"). Receive the Weatherward Circlet (15% Fire/Frost resistance).

Finally, give the shovel and manifest to Jensine for 200 gold.
