Mini PC with AMD Radeon 890M gets benchmarked across multiple AAA games

AMD's Strix Point made its debut with laptops, and mini PC manufacturers have recently started to introduce their Zen 5 offerings. The Beelink SER9 was one of the first to be announced, and it's the first to make a global debut. Under the hood, the system packs the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the top-end option in the series.

This APU features the Radeon 890M, which we found to be around 18ster than the last-gen Radeon 780M. ETA Prime has put the SER9 to the test to see how well the new RDNA 3.5 iGPU holds up when it is inside a mini PC, and the system did reasonably well.

The first game ETA Prime benchmarked is Horizon Forbidden West. This AAA title, which is particularly hard to run on iGPUs, was tested at 1080p with low graphics settings and frame generation turned on. The Radeon 890M averaged at around 70 FPS, and without frame generation, the average was at about 47 FPS.

Next, ETA Prime ran Forza Horizon 5 at 1080p with medium settings and without frame generation turned on. In this game, the Radeon 890M had an average FPS of 109. The YouTuber notes that at the same settings, the Radeon 780M would've averaged 89 FPS.

Another game tested on the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mini PC is Shadow of the Tomb Raider. At 1080p, medium settings, and without scaling, the RDNA 3.5 iGPU offered an average FPS of 56. Call of Duty MW3 was also tested on the system, and the average FPS was 141 with balanced preset and frame generation at balanced mode.

ETA Prime then tested Starfield at 1080p, low settings, and with FSRand frame-gen turned on. The Radeon 890M averaged at 87 FPS on that game. The last game tested was Cyberpunk 2077, and at 1080p, low settings, and FSR set to auto, the mini PC delivered an average FPS of 90.

Overall, it seems that the Strix Point mini PCs with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 will be great for gaming. Of course, it's worth noting that the Beelink SER9 maxed out at 54W TDP during the benchmarks. The mini PC can, however, go up to 65W, which may have let the iGPU perform a little better.
