Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 14 series on September 26in China, the same day as the global debut of the 14T lineup. The company has been teasing the new mid-range phones for a while now, and in the latest rounds of teasers, it has confirmed the SoC and battery details of the 14 Pro+.
The top-end phone within the series will feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. This would make the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ the first phone to pack this new Qualcomm SoC. In the Weibo post in which the company revealed the name of the SoC, Xiaomi said that the chip can deliver a "smooth experience" and has "low power consumption."
This Weibo post has also shed some light on the performance of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Xiaomi says that the Note 14 Pro+, with the new SoC, can run the Honor of Kings game at stable 120 FPS. Per the specs shared by Qualcomm, this new chip is expected to offer 40% faster GPU performance, 20% improved CPU performance, and 12% better power efficiency than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Another key aspect of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ that was revealed is the battery. Xiaomi confirmed that the top-end phone within this mid-range series will feature a large 6,200 mAh battery. This is a big improvement from the Note 13 Pro+, which comes with a 5,000 mAh battery.
However, while the predecessor could fast charge at 120W, the Note 14 Pro+ maxes out at 90W (Anker 100W GaN charger curr. $49.99 on Amazon). So, the charging speed saw a downgrade. Xiaomi has also previously shared that the entire lineup will have IP69 certification and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. These two are solid upgrades and will make the new mid-range Android phones durable.
