Anbernic has been on a roll this year with new product releases. In summary, the company has managed to introduce a new gaming handheld monthly since the start of 2024, culminating in the RG406V that arrived last week. On top of that, Anbernic is said to have a cheaper spin-off to the RG Cube in the pipeline, as well as a refresh of the RG35XX SP (curr. $89.99 on Amazon).
Now, a set of controllers can be added to the list of unreleased Anbernic products. Although the company has not confirmed anything just yet, a photo of three Anbernic-branded controllers has been circulating online in the last day or so across Bilibili in China and Reddit. Please note that these appear to be three colour options rather than distinct controllers.
At any rate, the unnamed controller has the usual assortment of buttons, including a pair of joysticks and a d-pad arranged like an Xbox controller. However, Anbernic has opted for Nintendo-style XYBA buttons. Thus, Anbernic has followed 8BitDo in this regard. Similarities extend to the controller's overall design, too. In short, Anbernic's controller is the spitting image of the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C, which now comes in a Black Myth: Wukong special edition variant. Launch details and pricing for Anbernic's copycat controller remain unknown for now, though.
