Acer Predator X49 V detailed for fans of huge of huge ultra-wide OLED gaming monitors

DisplaySpecificationsclaims to have discovered references to a new ultra-wide Predator gaming monitor that Acer is preparing to release. To recap, the company showcased the Predator X49 X towards the start of the year. Incidentally, Acer is only just getting around to releasing that monitor across many markets.

Nonetheless,DisplaySpecificationsasserts that Acer has also created the Predator X49 V. Allegedly known as the Predator X49 Vbmiiphuzx too, the monitor looks like the spitting image of the Predator X49 X. However, the Predator X49 V is said to utilise a slower QD-OLED panel than the Predator X49 X.

Specifically,DisplaySpecificationsreports that Acer has equipped the Predator X49 V with a 144 Hz panel compared to the 240 Hz equivalent that underpins the Predator X49 X. For context, the former panel is already available inside the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900L and the MSI MPG491CQP QD-OLED (curr. $869.99 on Amazon). For reference, this panel has a 1440p (5K2K) resolution with a 32:9 aspect ratio, 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness and 0.3 ms GtG response times.

Reportedly, Acer intends to sell the Predator X49 V for approximately $1,600, although we cannot find any evidence of that yet. Regardless,DisplaySpecificationsreports that the monitor features the following I/O:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 2x 5 W speakers
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 2x USB Type-A (5 Gbps)
  • 1x USB Type-B
  • 1x USB Type-C (90 W Power Delivery/DisplayPort Alt Mode)
