Deal | 85-inch Hisense U7N Mini-LED 4K TV with 144 Hz refresh rate drops to lowest price ever
If you are in the market for a 4K TV with an expansive panel, great picture quality, and superb HDR performance without breaking the bank, you might want to take a look at the Hisense U7N.
The U7N occupies a mid-range spot in Hisense’s lineup which means that it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. The TV has now become even more affordable thanks to a massive $700 discount on Amazon for the 85-inch model. According to camelcamelcamel, the final Hisense 85U7N price of $1,499.99 is a record low.
Even though the Hisense U7N is a mid-range offering, the TV packs some respectable hardware. The model on sale has an big 85-inch VA panel, 4K resolution, Mini-LED technology, HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and a native 144 Hz refresh rate. The TV also boasts a relatively low response time and has both G-Sync and FreeSync support.
Put simply, the Hisense U7N looks quite good on paper. Thankfully, the TV also performs well in the real world as shown by RTINGS’ review.
RTINGS gave the Hisense U7N a “Mixed Usage” rating of 8.2/10. The site noted that the rating is mainly due to the Hisense U7N’s strong contrast, high HDR brightness which results in an excellent HDR experience, and low response time. Additionally, the TV is also suitable for use in well-lit rooms as it handles reflections pretty well and has a high SDR brightness.
Looking at some numbers, RTINGS measured a native contrast of 4,771:1 which increased to 88,933:1 when Local Dimming was turned on to “High”. Similarly, the Hisense U7N boasts a stellar HDR brightness with more than 1,300 nits of Peak 25% Window brightness. This is sustained in SDR mode with the TV managing more than 1,000 nits of Peak 25% Window brightness.
Moreover, the color performance of the Hisense U7N is also quite good as RTINGS measured 96.25% of the DCI-P3 uv coverage alongside strong color volume.
However, the Hisense U7N also falters in some areas with the main one being the bad viewing angles. This is a consequence of the VA panel on offer as, unlike IPS, VA screens offer much better contrast but suffer from narrow viewing angles. So, if you want a TV that has no image distortion even when viewed from wide angles, look elsewhere.
All in all, the 85-inch Hisense 85U7N has a lot going for it. As such, it is a solid TV for the much-reduced asking price.

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
