2024 Q1 U.S. smartphone market rankings: Apple accounts for more than half and ranks first

Data from Counterpoint Research shows that the US smartphone market is shrinking. Compared with the first quarter of 2023, sales in the first quarter of 2024 fell by 8%. This is also the sixth consecutive quarter of sales decline in the U.S. smartphone market. In terms of market share, Apple still ranks first, with its share exceeding 50% and reaching 52%, which is consistent with the same period last year.

The agency’s analysts predict that market recovery will have to wait until at least the third quarter, when the launch of the iPhone 16 series may drive increased sales because the series is equipped with powerful AI features.
