The upcoming Nubia Z70 Ultra is set to push the boundaries of under-display camera technology. Digital blogger Smart Pikachu claims the device will feature a 1.5K resolution display with an under-screen camera, potentially making it the highest-resolution screen with UDC technology in the industry.

ZTE, Nubia's parent company, has been refining its under-screen camera technology, which is now in its sixth generation. The current Nubia Z60 Ultra and Red Magic 9S Pro series utilize a 2480x1116 resolution display, falling between 1080P and 1.5K. The Z70 Ultra aims to surpass this with its 1.5K screen, addressing the challenge of maintaining image quality and camera performance with higher pixel densities.

Traditionally, increased screen resolution can impede light transmission to under-display cameras, affecting selfie quality. Nubia has overcome this hurdle, promising superior display fidelity and enhanced front-facing camera performance in the Z70 Ultra.

While official specifications remain unconfirmed, the device is expected to feature Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, an upgrade from its predecessor's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Z70 Ultra may retain some characteristics of the Z60 Ultra, such as the 6.8-inch AMOLED display and 6000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, albeit with potential enhancements.

The Nubia Z70 Ultra's release date has yet to be announced, but considering the Z60 Ultra's December 2023 launch, a late 2024 debut seems plausible.
