# When the ##6.9-rc1 version was released, Linus pointed out:

Linux kernel 6.9 looks to be a "pretty normal" version. The timer subsystem has undergone a considerable rewrite, adding support for timer wheels per CPU core to improve timer performance, which is especially important for networking. The workqueue (workqueue) subsystem adds BH work queue support, getting rid of the old tasklet mechanism.

Linus said he now has a more powerful arm64 device from Ampere,

so there were almost as many arm64 builds last week as x86-64 and will be merged in future ones As the window continues, it's more of a "weekly test" than the previous M2 MacBook Air laptop.

I don't expect this to actually show any problems - the laptop tests never found any issues, but I feel like I'd be happier with a little more coverage.

mPDF

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
