Do this:

sudo ln -s /usr/local/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib

In other words, create a link from /usr/local/mysql/lib (actual location) to /usr/lib (the place MySQL goes looking).
