Overview

In order to improve the operational quality and user satisfaction of third-party applications operating on the Weibo open platform, and promote the continuous optimization of third-party developers This management specification is specially formulated to ensure that the Weibo Open Platform can stably provide high-quality services to third-party developers, promote the healthy development of applications, and achieve a win-win situation for developers and the Weibo Open Platform. This provision applies to all developers and developers who provide third-party applications based on the Weibo open platform.

Violation levels and definitions

It is divided into three levels according to the violations that may occur in daily operations of the application.The severity from severe to light is: 1 Level 1 violation, Level 2 violation, Level 3 violation. Depending on the level of violation, corresponding penalties will be imposed. Please pay attention to this.


Common operational violations

##First-level violation is a marketing tool for forwarding with prizes. The act of modifying an online application without notifying the Weibo Open Platform in advance. # Force users to authorize or follow the app. # Violates the relevant content of the "Weibo Open Platform Developer Agreement". Obtain resources and benefits through abnormal channels. Use non-Weibo official payment tools Without official authorization from Weibo, the operating activities of the application involve Weibo’s own brands or services (including but not limited to micro coins, membership recharge, etc.) Data leakageFake the official name of Weibo to publish and promote applications and induce users to use them.

Modification behaviors include but are not limited to: 1) After the application is launched, modify the application content that is inconsistent with the access application declaration without the knowledge of the Weibo open platform (such as selecting information when declaring and tools, but it was changed to game content after it was launched.)
  • 2) After the application was launched, external links or content unrelated to the application itself were added without the knowledge of the Weibo open platform.
1) The user cannot directly authorize or follow the application without any prompt after clicking the application. 2) There is an equivalent Cancel Close button next to the Authorize button.
  • 3) Users cannot be forced to pay attention to the cross-promotion of the application or other products during the application process.

Including but not limited to diverting users to other non-Weibo open platforms for registration and use through application login, messages, etc. |The Weibo Open Platform has the right to impose relevant penalties based on the severity of the violation.
All applications that access payment cannot use any other than Weibo official payment tools (including Weibo coins, Weibo payment) Payment instrument.
Application Operational activities (such as name, content, promotional materials, etc.) without official authorization from Weibo cannot involve Weibo’s own brands or services, including but not limited to Weibo trademarks and logos and any variations, website names, Wei coins, Weibo Bo membership recharge, etc.
Developers must ensure the security of Weibo data and shall not transfer or leak the data to other third parties in any way such as donation or sale.
In order to increase the number of users, maliciously deceive (pretend to be an official application) users to authorize or download and use the application.
The application involves uncivilized information, sensitive information, or any other information that is illegal, violates public order and good customs, or social morality.
  • 1) Developers must have their own checking and filtering mechanisms after the application is launched
  • 2) If the application itself involves uncivilized information, sensitive information, or any other illegal , information that violates public order and good morals or social ethics, Weibo has the right to impose corresponding penalties based on the circumstances of the violation.
  • 3) If the uncivilized and sensitive information in the application comes from information uploaded by users, it needs to be deleted within the specified time.
#Interface call exception. Calling a large number of interface data without the permission of Weibo’s open platform has affected Weibo’s own business. For the amount of calls to the interface, please refer to "API Access Frequency and Permissions".
Promote app downloads without users’ knowledge. The content published by users using application sharing contains promotional links, which must point to the page related to the shared content. They cannot directly point to the application download address or the page automatically jumps to the application download address.
The customer service channel was closed without reason and failed to be reopened within 24 hours. Including but not limited to closing the customer service phone number and customer service system displayed in the application, or deleting customer service contact information without reason, etc. After the problem occurs, the partner needs to reopen within 24 hours.
Complaint type failure. Due to limited customer service capacity, low service efficiency and other reasons, a large number of users complained about issues related to third-party applications, which affected the normal operation of the Weibo service.
Customer service accepts application complaints exceeding the specified number of times in a single monthThe scope of complaints includes:
  • 1) Failure to actively respond to user inquiries or complaints.
  • 2) Deliberately direct inquiries or complaints to the Weibo service.
  • 3) Poor service attitude and failure to respond to user inquiries or complaints.
  • The specified number of complaints includes:
  • 1) Strong complaints exceed 3 times
  • 2) Ordinary complaints exceed 30 times
  • 3 ) Any star user or enterprise certification authority complains more than once
The online application has been abnormal for more than 3 days in a single month. Due to the developer's reasons, the application could not be used normally for 3 consecutive days without any explanation.
The application contains content that is harmful to the physical and mental health of minors. Apps must avoid content that induces minors to imitate behaviors that violate social ethics and illegal crimes, as well as content that harms the physical and mental health of minors.
Second level violation Within the application, Weibo posting behavior is triggered by user operations but is not perceived by the user. Any application that is bundled with the Weibo publishing function must clearly inform the user in a prominent position before the actual publishing on Weibo.
Including but not limited to the behavior of directly redirecting users to other unrelated pages through application login, messages, cross-connect promotion, etc. Apps can and are limited to one external link to the app’s official website, and the linked official website must be relevant to the app’s functions and descriptions (e-commerce and marketing apps can jump to other whitelist domain names external link).
The online application did not actively push relevant information to the Weibo open platform when updating. Every time an application is updated, developers need to actively push update details and other related information to the Weibo open platform. Including: version number, update details, etc.
You cannot directly skip the boot page and pop up other pages after clicking Apply.
  • 1) All applications should form a closed loop within the Weibo open platform during use, and no pages outside the Weibo open platform should pop up.
  • 2) The page after the user clicks on the client-side application must provide a detailed description of the application, and cannot be directly provided to the user for download without detailed description.
Induces users to pay to obtain lottery opportunities, drawings (including physical prizes and virtual props) and all related services. Do not use random drawing or other methods to induce users to invest V coins or other online game virtual currencies to obtain online game products and services.
The application involves other secondary virtual currencies. The application cannot involve secondary virtual currencies that can be hoarded, recharged, or used to purchase in-app paid props or services (such as V coins purchased into other virtual currencies)
Collect user sensitive information.
  • 1) Including but not limited to collecting user passwords, ID card information, bank card information and other user information that has nothing to do with application operation.
  • 2) If necessary user information related to application operation is indeed needed, the explicit consent of the Weibo open platform and the user must be obtained first, and the purpose and purpose of filling in such information must be explained to the user in the application. Purpose, this type of information is filled in voluntarily by the user by default and cannot be forced to be filled in.
#Customer service accepts application complaints exceeding the specified number of times in a single month. The scope of complaints includes:
  • 1) Failure to actively respond to user inquiries or complaints.
  • 2) Deliberately direct inquiries or complaints to the Weibo service.
  • 3) Poor service attitude and failure to respond to user inquiries or complaints.

The application has been launched online, but the application status has been abnormal for 2 days. Due to developer reasons, the application was unable to be used normally for 2 consecutive days without any explanation.

Level 3 ViolationCustomer service accepts application complaints that exceed the specified number of times in a single month. The scope of complaints includes:
  • 1) Failure to actively respond to user inquiries or complaints.
  • 2) Deliberately direct inquiries or complaints to the Weibo service.
  • 3) Poor service attitude and failure to respond to user inquiries or complaints.


  • Required number of complaints:
  • 1) More than 1 strong complaint
  • 2) More than 10 ordinary complaints The application has been launched online for times
, but the application status has been abnormal for one day. Due to developer reasons, the application could not be used normally for 1 consecutive day without any explanation.
An exception occurred in the online application. Due to developer reasons, the application cannot be entered and used normally. Developers need to make rectifications within 24 hours to ensure application troubleshooting. Any time exceeding 24 hours will be counted as 2 days, and so on.
App icon violation. The application pictures should be clear. You are not allowed to add text patterns such as "new, hot, hot, recommended" by yourself, and you are not allowed to directly or indirectly use Weibo or other company graphic elements. For copyright-related parts, relevant authorization documents must be provided.
App content violation. Any illegal and vulgar content related to pornography, gambling, drugs, etc. has been removed from the application.
Application related information is in violation. The application and developer information must be displayed at the bottom of the application page, including but not limited to application introduction, developer website, customer service contact information, etc.

Common technical violations

##First-level violation Store username and password. # Simulate the behavior of official apps or other apps. # Use the Weibo interface to steal account information. Use usernames and passwords leaked online for automatic authorization. Second level violation Use the Weibo interface to capture large amounts of data.

Penalty Measures

For applications that violate these management measures or related rules, Weibo Open Platform has the right to unilaterally impose penalties based on the severity of the case, or suspend or terminate the provision of services to users. Penalties for individual applications and developers, etc. It is particularly important to note that applications that violate regulations during the preferential support period will no longer be able to enjoy any preferential support policies. Punishment measures include but are not limited to the following measures:

  • 1. Warning: An electronic warning notice will be issued by the Weibo open platform and rectification will be made within a time limit.
  • 2. Stop new user authorization: Weibo Open Platform stops all application invitation behaviors of illegal applications on Weibo Open Platform, and limits the number of new user authorizations to 0.
  • 3. Close the application: After closing the application entrance, external users will be completely unable to access the application to perform any operations, including authorized users, who can only see pages under application maintenance.
  • 4. Application offline: Weibo Open Platform and developers terminate the operation of applications on Weibo Open Platform and take them offline.
  • 5. Interface access is blocked: After interface access is blocked, all interfaces cannot be called successfully and failure information is returned.
  • 6. Suspension of new application access: Weibo open platform will reject all new application access applications from the developer within a certain period of time.
  • 7. Termination of cooperation: When a developer continues to have serious violations after being continuously downgraded to an ordinary-level developer, the Weibo Open Platform has the right to stop all cooperation with the developer.
