As of March this year, 5G mobile phone shipments were 17.736 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%, accounting for 83.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period, showing the strong demand for 5G mobile phones in the domestic market. However, overall smartphone shipments declined, specifically to 20.218 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.2%, but still accounted for the majority of the market share, reaching 94.6%.

Data show that in the first quarter of this year, mobile phone shipments in China’s domestic market were 67.415 million units, a year-on-year growth of 7.4%. Among them, the shipment volume of 5G mobile phones reached 56.433 million units, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%, accounting for 83.7%, further proving the widespread acceptance of 5G technology in the domestic market. At the same time, smartphone shipments were 63.773 million units, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%, continuing to maintain its market dominance.

At the same time, domestic mobile phone shipments in March were 17.633 million units. Although it fell 8.5% year-on-year, it still occupied 82.5% of the market. At the same time, domestic mobile phones also performed well in terms of new models being launched, with 43 new models launched, accounting for 91.5% of new models launched during the same period. Judging from the data in the first quarter of this year, domestic mobile phone shipments were 55.711 million units, a year-on-year increase of 19.3%, and the share also increased by 8.6%, showing the strong competitiveness of domestic mobile phones in the domestic market.
