EHang’s intelligent eVTOL aircraft completes first manned flight in UAE

According to news from this site on May 7, urban air mobility (UAM) technology company EHang Intelligent announced last night that its unmanned electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft EH216-S successfully completed its flight in the United Arab Emirates (below) (referred to as "UAE")Abu Dhabi's first manned flight demonstration, marking the first time such a flight has been achieved in the UAE in the Middle East.

The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (GCAA) approved the EH216 series of unmanned eVTOL aircraft (including EH216-S, EH216-L and EH216-F) to conduct multiple unmanned flights at the Emirates Falcons Aviation Club in Abu Dhabi Demo.

According to previous reports on this site, EHang Smart EH216-S is the world’s first eVTOL aircraft with all three certificates, namely Type Certificate (TC) ), airworthiness certificate (AC), production license (PC).

EH216-S has a body length of 5.73 meters and a height of 1.93 meters. The official claims that it can be fully charged within two hours,

the fastest flight speed can reach 130 kilometers/hour, and the battery life is 25 minutes and a designed range of 30 kilometers.

EH216-S can be widely used in manned transportation, tourism, logistics and transportation, medical emergency and other scenarios. It is currently priced at 2.39 million yuan.
