甲骨文
天极网2月16日消息(戴寻严 编译)据外电报道，在日前举行的“开放源码商务大会”上，开源数据库“大佬”MySQL的首席执行官透露，数据库巨头甲骨文曾表示想收购他们，但遭到拒绝。MySQL公司的首席执行官Marten Mickos在确认甲骨文收购意图之后，并未透露有关收购价格等敏感信息。不过，他给出了回绝甲骨文的原因:即让MySQL独立地成长。Mickos说 :“我们有朝一日会成为一个大公司的一部分，但这个公司应该叫做MySQL。”
对于这番言论，甲骨文方面没有否认也没有确认。
目前尚不清楚甲骨文表示收购MySQL的时间。去年10月份，甲骨文已经买下了芬兰的开源数据库Innobase，而MySQL正是试用了Innobase的数据库引擎。本周二，甲骨文又宣布并购另外一个开源数据库公司Sleepycat(其产品名叫伯克利DB)。从甲骨文接二连三吃下开源数据库来看，埃利森觊觎作为开源数据库老大的MySQL并不出乎外界的意料。
MySQL经过近三年的开发，产品功能已经日臻成熟。在去年发布的5.0版本中已经增加了视图、触发器、存储过程等功能，显示出向企业级数据库过渡的迹象。目前，MySQL已经是最成功的开源数据库，驱动了全世界数以万计的网站后台。
一月份，MySQL表示他们已经连续两个季度盈利，但仍在接受外界的资金。本周一，MySQL宣布从英特尔、红帽和SAP等的风险投资公司获得了近1850万美元的资金。
对于甲骨文持续收购开源数据库的原因，业界认为这条数据库“大额”的真正目的是把开源用户转化成其大数据库的“付费”用户。(完)
