How to input Chinese on CentOS

CentOS does not include the Chinese input method by default and needs to be installed manually.

Steps:

1. Install Chinese input method:

   • Run command:sudo yum install ibus-pinyin

2. Enable Chinese input method:

   • Open "Settings" >"Region and Language">"Input Source"
   • Click " " to add input source
   • Select "Chinese">"Chinese (Simplified)">"Pinyin"

3. Switch input method:

   • Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl Space
   • Input method icon: upper right corner, usually "EN"

4. Input Chinese:

   • Switch to Chinese input method
   • Use Pinyin to input Chinese, the system will automatically convert it to Chinese characters

Other notes:

• Some applications may require additional settings to support Chinese input.
• Make sure your system locale is set to Chinese.
