According to news on February 22, data released today by market research organization Canalys Consulting shows that in the fourth quarter of 2023, Honor ranked among the top five smartphones in the European region (excluding Russia) for the first time.
Data shows that in the fourth quarter of 2023, Honor’s shipments in Europe increased by 116% year-on-year, reaching 1.1 million units, ranking fifth.
Overall, in the fourth quarter of 2023, smartphone shipments in Europe were 37.8 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3%.
Apple reversed its position behind Samsung for seven consecutive quarters and regained the number one position, with shipments of 12.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1%.
Samsung ranked second with shipments of 10.8 million units, a decrease of 12%; however, shipments of the S series and mid-range A series remained stable, offsetting some of the impact of declining sales.
And it is worth noting that from the perspective of 2023 as a whole, Samsung still ranks first.
Although Xiaomi’s sales fell 10% to 6 million units, it still maintained its third position, thanks to its strong momentum in Central and Eastern Europe.
Motorola and Honor ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Motorola’s shipments were 2 million units, a year-on-year increase of 73%; while Honor’s shipments were 1.1 million units, a year-on-year increase of 116%.
At the same time, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the market share of high-end smartphones in Europe hit a record high, with nearly 40% of smartphones shipped priced at US$800 and above.
