Casper Labs, a provider of enterprise blockchain software and services, and IBM Consulting announced the launch of a partnership New solution designed to help clients improve the transparency and auditability of artificial intelligence systems by leveraging blockchain technology. This cooperation will provide customers with a more reliable data traceability and verification mechanism to ensure that the operation process of artificial intelligence systems is fair, transparent, and meets regulatory requirements. By combining blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies, this solution is expected to provide enterprises with a higher level of data security and credibility, further promoting the integration and development of blockchain and artificial intelligence.
Casper Labs and IBM Consulting are collaborating to develop a new solution based on blockchain technology called Casper Labs. This solution, combined with the IBM watsonx.governance platform, provides an additional layer of analytics and policy enforcement for managing AI training data across organizations. This new solution will provide users with more powerful functionality and more efficient data management capabilities.
The process of training, developing, and deploying generative AI models requires the participation of multiple organizations, including model creators and end-user organizations. As different organizations integrate new data sets or make modifications to the model, the model's output changes accordingly. Therefore, many organizations need to be able to track and audit these changes and accurately identify and correct problems. To solve these problems, blockchain technology can play a role. Through shared metadata in the blockchain, organizations can share their trusted contextual information and record changes to the model. This reduces potential data sharing risks where intellectual property intersects or crosses organizational lines. The distributed ledger of the blockchain can ensure data security and transparency, allowing all parties to verify and trace the change history of the model. This sharing and traceability mechanism helps build trust and promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing between organizations. Casper Labs’ solutions are planned to be built on Casper Network (CSPR). The network is a tamper-proof and highly serialized ledger that can be integrated with the IBM watsonx.governance and watsonx.ai platforms to monitor and measure input and output data for training generative AI systems across organizations. Casper Network's (CSPR) hybrid features and permissions system enable organizations to better protect sensitive data stored in the solution, prevent access by external actors, and have control over access to the data. Additionally, the solution leverages blockchain’s serialization capabilities to support version control, enabling organizations to efficiently roll back to previous iterations of AI systems in response to performance issues or biased output. By leveraging the features of Casper Network (CSPR) and integrating with IBM watsonx.governance and watsonx.ai, Casper Labs’ solutions provide organizations with a secure, controllable and efficient environment for the development and deployment of AI systems.
IBM Consulting’s AI governance and technology experts will work with Casper Labs to build the solution. The solution is expected to be available in beta form in the first quarter of 2024, followed by broad rollout through multiple channels including the IBM Cloud Marketplace.

The new solutions program will be leveraged by enterprises across industries as diverse as financial services, healthcare and retail, with widespread adoption of AI solutions across their technology and service provider ecosystems.
The solution will have the following features:
· Compliance Dashboard: A centralized dashboard to monitor and manage the cross-organizational application of AI systems to monitor Control whether it complies with the organization's ethical principles.
· Quality Control Toolkit: Includes tools for monitoring the quality and performance of AI systems, as well as a control interface to increase the transparency and interpretability of AI output.
