Home >System Tutorial >Windows Series >Set the transparency of the Win10 taskbar
The interface of the Win10 operating system is beautiful and amazing. However, unfortunately, its taskbar cannot be set to be completely transparent, so many software for setting the taskbar to be transparent have emerged on the Internet. However, today I am honored to share with you a method that can achieve complete transparency in the Win10 taskbar without relying on third-party software and only through simple settings.
1. Right-click Personalize on the desktop, enter Color Settings>>Select Color>>Select Dark or Custom definition. Here, we recommend you choose Custom for better results.
#2. Press the Win R key combination to bring up the run window, enter regedit (i.e. Registry Editor) and be sure to run it as an administrator!
3. Navigate to the following path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
4. Right-click the blank space on the right and select New→DWORD (32-bit) value.
5. Rename the new file to TaskbarAcrylicOpacity.
#6. Double-click to modify the file name and set it according to the value in the red box. Note that a value of "0" means completely transparent, a value of "10" means completely opaque, and values in between can be fine-tuned to achieve the most appropriate transparency based on personal needs.
Please be sure to select decimal in the base option! After confirming it is correct, click the OK button.
7. Restart Windows Explorer. You can find the program named Windows Explorer in Task Manager and restart it.
